DAILY MILEAGE §392.6

No motor carrier shall schedule a run nor permit nor require the operation of any commercial motor vehicle between points in such period of time as would necessitate the commercial motor vehicle being operated at speeds greater than those prescribed by the jurisdictions in or through which the commercial motor vehicle is being operated.

HOS ACCURACY

HOS entries must correspond with Port of Entry records, accident reports, citations received, road side equipment inspections, etc.

ACCIDENT INVESTIGATIONS

Time spent on the scene of an accident is required to be logged as” on-duty not driving.”

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE AND ALCOHOL TESTING

Time travelling to, providing urine and/or breath specimen and returning from testing location is “on-duty not driving” and must be logged as such.

ON-DUTY NOT DRIVING

Pre-Trip inspections, reporting for duty to obtain trip information/documents, hook-ups and pre-trip planning is “on-duty not driving.”

SAFETY/TRAINING MEETINGS

Remunerated or mandated attendance is “on duty not driving.”

WEEKLY TIME SHEETS

Weekly Time Sheets may be used to comply with recordkeeping requirements of grid log exempt drivers. Refer to Form 8-1

PRIOR SEVEN-DAY HOS RECORD

When using a driver for the first time or intermittently, you must obtain from the driver a signed statement giving the total time on-duty during the immediately preceding seven days and the time at which the driver was last relieved from duty prior to beginning work for motor carrier. Refer to Form 8-2
