DOT requires that anyone responsible for the inspection, maintenance, service, or repairs for any brakes on commercial motor vehicles meet the minimum qualifications, outlined in section 396.25 FMCSR. Qualification documentation should be kept on file for anyone who meets the requirements and performs the aforementioned maintenance to brakes.
