Special Equipment Training

You, or your maintenance department, should fully review the equipment that the driver will be operating. This includes maintenance and inspections.

Any operation using equipment such as those listed below should provide specialized training, perhaps by the maintenance department, for all newly qualified drivers. This will ensure that the driver is thoroughly familiar with the safe operating procedures prior to being dispatched.

1. Refrigerated (reefer) trailers.
2. Dump trailers.
3. Tank trailers.
